Researcher
Glory Akanbi
Glory Akanbi is a third-year Electronic and Electrical Engineering student at Obafemi Awolowo University, working on drone technology, aerial robotics, autonomous systems and AI-enabled hardware. Her research interests centre on UAV autonomy, intelligent perception and control, and applying robotics to real-world problems in healthcare, infrastructure and agriculture.
Her work includes State-Adaptive Drone Autonomy for Energy Infrastructure Inspection, which explores how UAVs can adapt their behaviour to changing inspection environments, alongside projects on medical delivery drones, autonomous agricultural UAVs and UAV battery management. She has also contributed to the lab's healthcare robotics research, including force perception in robot-assisted surgery through force sensing, haptic feedback and AI estimation.
Beyond research she is a hands-on UAV builder, working with Pixhawk, F450 and Parrot Minidrone platforms. She founded Glory's Drone Technology Series, through which she has published more than twenty drone-awareness pieces and hosted webinars on the technology and its applications. She also contributes to robotics education through IEEE RAS OAU and the FutureMinds AI and Robotics Bootcamp.
